Catch of the Day – Tropical Visitors

Catch of the Day – Tropical Visitors

Mar 24, 2016 | misc |

Visiting from a rather tropical region. Gallos Azules, aka scrawled file fish, belonging to the trigger fish family. Different species of trigger fishes are increasingly coming to El Hierro and settling down. After all, the water is up to 2 degrees warmer than on the other Canary Islands. The general climate warming contributes to making the underwater world, at the most southwestern point of the Canary Islands, a little more tropical.

Testimonials

  • Freediving makes happy. Specially with an instructor who understands to motivate in a sensitive way. He knows the best dive spots and knows to choose the safest spots according to the conditions of wind, wave and weather. Happy and contented. I´ll be back!

  • Competent theoretical and practical training sessions on apnea diving in beautiful surroundings.

  • I deeply share and value Karsten’s approach to Freediving: “It’s not about who can go deeper and longer. It’s about the “WAY”, what you discover about yourself, about the world around you on your way down into the Deep Blue.

  • The individual supervision, well-structured course material, step-by-step instructions were outstanding. The underwater scenery here around El Hierro is breathtaking.

  • Thousands of sardines, a shoal of mackerels and a ray—and I felt calm being in the middle of it all. #firstfreediveever #idoitagain #einsternkommtseltenallein 🙂
