Catch of the day – Locust Lobster – Santiaguiño – Bärenkrebs
At one of these dives with Kolja and Tobias we did find the rare Locust Lobster (scyllarus arctus). He lives in crevices at a depth between 4m and 100m. In our case we took the foto of this bizarre and crusty fellow with his bright violet outline at 4m . It can get as big as your forearm but only the tip of the tail is edible. Thank “ocean god” the locust lobster is a very protected animal. Still there are people who throw away 4/5 of this precious animal for a couple of seconds of good taste on their tongue.
